Night at Velocity
Evening wakeboarding under the lights plus music, drinks, and a bonfire. Dates coming soon for 2026.
Learn moreNo expensive boat or gas needed. Just grab a handle, get pulled by the cable, and ride. A main cable and a training cable for every skill level, from first-timers to pros.
Traditional wakeboarding requires an expensive boat, a driver, fuel, and a trip to the lake. Cable wakeboarding removes all of that. An overhead cable tows you around the lake at a consistent speed, so all you need to do is hold on and ride.
The cable system is quieter, more eco-friendly, and more affordable than boat-based wakeboarding. It also makes learning easier because the pull is steady and predictable. Whether you have never touched a wakeboard or you are landing backflips, Velocity Island Park has the right setup for you.
No experience necessary. Pick the session that fits where you are: learn on the beginner cable, build up on progression, ride the best light of the day, or send it under the lights. Learn. Progress. Send it.

Our five-tower Sesitec full-size cable runs a continuous loop around the lake, pulling up to six riders at a time. This is where intermediate and advanced riders come to progress their skills on world-class features imported from Germany.
Never been on a wakeboard? No worries. Our 2.0 Beginner Cable is a single-rider, straight-line tow system designed specifically for people learning the sport. You ride back and forth in a straight line at lower speeds, giving you time to find your balance and build confidence without worrying about turns or other riders.
Want to learn faster? Book a private wakeboard lesson on the 2.0 Beginner Cable and have a staff coach walk you through stance, balance, and getting up on your first rides. Lessons are ideal for complete beginners, kids trying the sport for the first time, and anyone who wants to skip the trial and error and ride sooner.
Cable wakeboarding is genuinely easier to learn than boat wakeboarding because the cable gives you a smooth, steady pull. Most first-timers are riding within their first session. New to the sport? Read our beginner's guide to cable wakeboarding before you come.
On Friday nights, the wakeboard park lights up for night riding. The park is illuminated so you can ride under the stars while the rest of the park takes on a completely different vibe. Check the events calendar for upcoming Friday night ride dates.
Combine your night ride with drinks at Costa Fuego and a beach bonfire for the ultimate evening at Velocity.

Cable wakeboarding is easier to learn than you might think. Here are a few tips to help you get up on your first try.
The most common mistake is trying to stand up too early. Stay in a crouched position with your arms straight and let the cable pull you out of the water. Once you feel the tension, slowly stand up.
Resist the urge to pull the handle toward your body. Keep your arms extended and let the cable do the work. Bending your arms will throw off your balance.
Your body follows your eyes. Look ahead in the direction you want to travel, not down at the water or at the board. Keep your weight centered over the board.

Wear a swimsuit or athletic shorts and a rash guard. Avoid loose clothing that can catch on the cable or handle. We provide the life jacket and helmet. Board shorts with pockets should have the pockets emptied and zipped or velcroed shut.
Session lengths vary depending on the pass you purchase. Daily passes give you access for the full operating hours that day. Check the booking page for specific session times and availability.
