Velocity Island Park started as a cable wakeboard park in 2013, built around a private, clean lake on the outskirts of Woodland, California. The lake is the centerpiece of everything here: spring-fed, calm, and genuinely beautiful. From that foundation, the park has grown one thoughtful addition at a time.
The floating aqua park came next, turning the lake into a full obstacle course experience. Then Costa Fuego, the lakefront restaurant, opened so families could eat, drink, and relax without ever leaving the property. The Silos Event Center followed, bringing weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations to the waterfront.
Today, Velocity Island is the only destination in the Sacramento region that combines cable wakeboarding, a floating aqua park, and lakefront dining under one roof. The park is 20 miles from downtown Sacramento, right off Interstate 5, and 12 miles from Sacramento International Airport. That combination of quality, variety, and easy access is what keeps guests coming back every season.
The park was built with families in mind from day one. A training cable gives first-timers a safe, low-pressure way to try wakeboarding. The swim beaches have shallow entry points for younger kids. Costa Fuego serves the full table, from wood-fired pizza to handcrafted cocktails, so no one needs to make a fast food run mid-day. Every decision has been about keeping people on the water and having a great time together.

For group bookings, private events, and general questions, our team is happy to help.
Send a messageSummer hours (through Labor Day): Open daily except Tuesdays. From August 19, also closed Wednesdays. Monday, August 31 the park is closed for the day. From September 1, also closed Thursdays, so the park is open Friday through Monday. Labor Day, Monday September 7, is open.
Fall hours: From September 11, the Aqua Park is closed Fridays. From September 14, Mondays are closed too, so the park is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. From September 28, the park is open Saturday and Sunday only. October 11 is the Aqua Park's last day for the 2026 season; the swim beach, wakeboarding, paddle boarding and Costa Fuego stay open on weekends. On Saturday, October 17 the park closes early at 4pm for a private event.
Hours: Sat & Sun 12pm to 7pm, Fri 12pm to 7pm, Mon & Thu 12pm to 6pm. Aqua Park closes 5pm (last session 4pm).
